Product Description : The Watercolor Test Sheet is meant to be used by working watercolorists who want to have a visual record of all their pigments and become more familiar with their properties. It was designed and created by Susan Avis Murphy, at the ARThouse Studio School in Sandy Spring, Maryland. Each row of the sheet is painted with a different pigment. The first of the five circles will show your pigment in a medium value and reveal its granularity vs. smoothness. The second circle is used for a test of "liftability" of the pigment and shows whether it is a staining vs. liftable pigment. The third circle is sprinkled with table salt while the paint is still set to show the degree of "salt effect" obtainable. The fourth circle shows the opaqueness of the pigment by how much it is able to cover up a little black design. The rectangle at the end is used for a lightfastness test.
